Advanced Technical Ceramic Manufacturing & Engineering Services

Technical ceramics are among the most demanding materials to manufacture precisely, and among the most critical when performance cannot be compromised. Across industries like oil and gas, aerospace, automotive, food and beverage, and nuclear power, ceramic components are specified where metals fail: under extreme heat, corrosive chemical exposure, and severe abrasive wear. Demand for tight-tolerance ceramic parts continues to grow as engineers push operating conditions beyond what conventional materials can handle.
C-Mac International is a leading manufacturer of technical ceramic components for industrial applications. We specialize in high-complexity parts that perform where metals fail under extreme heat or corrosive wear. At C-Mac International, we have over 85 combined years of experience. We design and manufacture advanced ceramic components from raw material formulation through finished parts. Our team responds quickly to help customers who require precision and reliability.

From Drawing to Finished Component: Our End-to-End Process

C-Mac delivers fully finished ceramic components rather than simple blanks that require secondary processing. We manage the complete production sequence to maintain strict quality control and reduce supply chain complexity. Our standard process involves:
Standard lead times average 60 days from the initial drawing to delivery. For urgent development needs, we can provide material samples in as little as 24 hours.

CNC Precision Ceramic Machining

Because technical ceramics are inherently hard and brittle, CNC precision machining is a critical, skill-dependent phase of production. C-Mac machines parts from specialized materials in-house rather than machining for third parties, ensuring total control over the finished component's geometry and profit margins.
We hold tight tolerances to meet functional requirements in demanding environments. For example, we manufacture ceramic pump seals to extremely precise dimensions. This allows the component to function reliably as a seal against a mating surface. Our CNC precision ceramic machining capabilities support complex geometries across Alumina and Silicon Nitride. Skilled CNC precision ceramic machining at C-Mac helps procurement managers reduce long-term maintenance costs through better part accuracy.

Advanced Forming: Cold Isostatic Pressing (CIP)

Cold Isostatic Pressing applies uniform hydraulic pressure from all directions to compact ceramic powder into a green body with highly uniform density. Compared to uniaxial pressing, CIP significantly reduces the risk of warping or cracking during sintering.
We recommend CIP for long tubular shapes, large cross-sections, and near-net-shape parts where reducing downstream diamond grinding matters. For design engineers, CIP delivers superior mechanical performance in high-stress structural applications.

Dry Pressing

Dry pressing compacts dry or semi-dry ceramic powder in a rigid die under uniaxial pressure - a high-volume forming method well suited to simpler geometries that require tight part-to-part consistency. The process produces green bodies with repeatable dimensions, reducing post-sinter machining and keeping per-unit cost low.
We apply dry pressing for discs, cylinders, and flat tiles used in industrial wear and sealing applications. For procurement managers sourcing high-volume components, dry pressing at C-Mac delivers the repeatability and cost efficiency that sustainable production programs require.

Injection Molding

Ceramic injection molding enables complex, near-net-shape parts that would be difficult or cost-prohibitive to machine from solid stock. Ceramic powder is mixed with a thermoplastic binder, injected into a precision mold, debound, and sintered to the final density.
This process is effective for small, intricate components with internal features, undercuts, or thin walls - holding tight tolerances at production volumes. Aerospace, medical device, and electronics manufacturers specify injection-molded ceramics in which both geometric complexity and dimensional precision must be achieved at scale. For design engineers, it is a direct path from CAD to a finished, production-ready part.

Precision Lapping, Polishing & Surface Finishing

Surface finish directly affects sealing performance, friction, and fatigue life. Our lapping, polishing & surface finishing processes bring components to the exact flatness, parallelism, and surface roughness values required by the application.
Lapping removes material with sub-micron precision using abrasive compounds. Polishing refines the surface further for optical quality. We cover flat lapping for sealing faces and cylindrical lapping for bores - capabilities essential for fluid sealing and precision metering components where leakage is not acceptable.

Metallizing & Brazing

Ceramics bond poorly to metals through conventional welding. Metallizing & brazing resolves this by depositing a metallic layer onto the ceramic surface, creating a bondable interface that can then be brazed to a metal component using a filler material.
This capability supports hermetic seals, electronic feedthrough components, and aerospace or medical assemblies that must withstand repeated thermal cycling. Integrating metallizing & brazing in-house eliminates external bonding operations that add lead time and introduce quality risk.

Cleanroom Assembly & Sub-Assembly

Particulate contamination during assembly can compromise sealing surfaces or alter the electrical properties of finished components. Our cleanroom assembly & sub-assembly capability supports customers in semiconductor and nuclear power applications where environmental control is a specification requirement.
We integrate our manufactured ceramic parts with other components and deliver a finished assembly rather than loose parts. This gives procurement managers a single accountable source for the entire project, consolidating the supplier base and simplifying quality oversight.

Why Partner with a Lean Ceramics Manufacturer?

C-Mac's operating model is lean. Three principals and a high-performance manufacturing partner deliver a cost structure that larger manufacturers cannot replicate. We typically save customers 20%–25% on component spend without compromising on material quality. Our lean operating model translates into direct operational advantages for procurement teams:
24-hour quoting
We provide technical quotes within one business day to keep your project timelines on track.
48-hour delivery
Through custom stocking and consignment programs, we offer 48-hour delivery on blanket releases.
60-day lead time
We move from initial drawing to finished, tight-tolerance parts in an average of 60 days.
